Ever since James Cameron’s Avatar hit the commercial world, it was a simple grab: Avatar is Pocahontas (on LSD). Here’s more proof in the pudding. Spoiler alert! Or something like that (if your watching this on the frankylicious home page, hit twice [J] to move to the next entry!).
This is 70 minutes long but contrarily to me you probably have nothing to do on this Saturday, so you might as well do something useful and watch this awesome review in 7 parts.
If you are not a victim of geotardation, ie. if you live in the US of A, you can watch the complete Caprica pilot on SyFy (who’s the moron who came up with that spelling?
The problem with looking for cool stuff is that whenever you discover some really cool things and want to go and devote your time at the important things in life, like play Shivering Isles… you discover something else. So right on the heels of the new Alice in Wonderland trailer, we present you this totally awesome Tarantino mixtape.
Yes, we are fans of Quentin here at frankylicious. And of his soundtracks. Now the guys at Eclectic Method went further and created an awesome mixtape of his soundtracks. With just as awesome video.
The most embarassing? The video is 7 months old and we only discovered it now!
Alice in Wonderland does war Tim Burton style? That’s right folks, the second trailer for AiW has been released and with every new bit of information we receive this movie is more and more becoming the epic movie highlight of 2010. And we even haven’t seen the movie yet. How’s that?
Awesome list of the 50 best movies of the ’00s by The A.V. Club. There are some weird choices like The Two Towers as the preferred Lord of The Ring movies, or no Up but Wall•e and The Incredibles. Expect more about movies here soon as I am upgrading the complete library to HD.
In both cases, the entity that began as the ideal companion soon took on a more realistic, three-dimensional quality. In other words, they became real. This is evident in that both Hobbes and Tyler also began to function as scapegoats for their creators. For instance, consider that Calvin often blames broken lamps and other assorted household mischief on Hobbes, and that Jack is inclined to believe that Fight Club and other various anti-society mischief is brought about by Tyler, not himself. Calvin claims Hobbes pounces on him every day after school; Jack believes Tyler beats him up next to 40 kilotons of nitroglycerin in a parking garage—the list goes on and on. The relationships between the two sets of friends are the exact same. Is this mere coincidence?
It might have a while but someone has finally found a use for Google Wave and it was an unexpected one to say the least. Is this going to be another Twitter story where the community decides what to do with things and not really the creators?
Google Wave seems the perfect tool to reenact movies, the internet way as can be seen in ‘Pulp Wave Fiction’.
Another great example of the perfect use for Google Wave is ‘Good Wave Hunting’. Read more
Academy Award winner and directing legend Roman Polanski has been arrested on Saturday by Swiss police. The Polish-French director planned to attend a film festival featuring a retrospective of his work but instead was arrested upon arrival in Zurich said the Swiss police.
The Paris inhabitant had fled the US after he was convicted in 1978 of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl whom he had lured to the home of Jack Nicholson and drugged. An international warrant had been outstanding ever since.
Polanski is most known for his movies ‘Chinatown’ and ‘Rosemary’s Baby’.
If you’re one of those who like spoiling everything this T-Shirt might be one for you. The shirt contains a wide range of movie spoilers and honestly, if there still are people who haven’t seen, or understood, these movies they do not deserve better.
☆ I know there are fans of coffee art among the frankylicious readers, so I thought I might as well post a link to it here. Even though I would not want to wait or have a barista make a lovely piece of art I would ruin by stirring it up. No, I never would waste any of the guests' time layering flavoured mocchas. Anyway, here you go : Art in My Coffee.
☆ The Sun thinks differently. Did I just link to The Sun?Screw that. Everybody move on now! Nothing to see here.

☆ 1000 Celebrities and pop culture icons in 8-bit art. On your iPhone. At $2.99 a cool deal for 8-bit nerds, otherwise wasted money. 'Get it!', we say.
☆ If you are not a victim of geotardation, ie. if you live in the US of A, you can watch the complete Caprica pilot on SyFy (who's the moron who came up with that spelling?
☆ Interesting discovery and video: an octopus uses a coconut shell to hide under but also takes the shell with him when walking over the mud of the ocean. Coconuts as tools. Most interesting of all, this was not discovered or filmed by the BBC Life team.
☆ Go on, admit it! You also want one of these: 700mW green laser pointer. Abuse the occasion as they are 20% off and only $2.499 anymore! I wished I were rich.
☆ Nobody knows how long Dubai will survive, although I do know someone who bought her second villa there perfectly abusing the current local economic situation -maybe I should reconnect with her daughter, but this concept art is great and would probably make Marvelland the most amazing theme park. Ever.
