I will admit it, I am as stunned as you are. No, I do not read the site where I found those pictures but the odd link I find occasionally leads me to the Daily Mail online. Oh frak, shut it. At least until you have seen these pictures of frozen life ~~food~~ in Antartica.

‘Few people realise just how rich in biodiversity the Southern Ocean is – even a single trawl can reveal a fascinating array of weird and wonderful creatures as would be seen on a coral reef,’ said BAS research cruise leader Dr David Barnes.

‘These animals are potentially very good indicators of environmental change as many occur in the shallows, which are changing fast, but also in deeper water which will warm much less quickly.’

Interesting discovery and video: an octopus uses a coconut shell to hide under but also takes the shell with him when walking over the mud of the ocean. Coconuts as tools. Most interesting of all, this was not discovered or filmed by the BBC Life team.

Dogs used as shark bait?

We already had the brilliant major who plans to prevent airplane crashes by killing geese, and the animal craziness never seems to stop. According to The Sun, French fishers use dogs as shark bait.

STRAY dogs are being skewered on hooks and dragged behind boats as live shark bait, The Sun can shockingly reveal. The cruel practice takes place on French-controlled Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, where Prince William spent two holidays.

As usual, we are always careful when it comes to The Sun and actual truth, still if this IS true, it is a shocking revelation.
