Glitches in Games in Real Virtual Photography

Visual glitches in games have always existed and probably were first highlighted to non-hardcore gamers crowd when the “Enter The Matrix Game” hit public status and was literally littered with game glitches. But small annoyances and bugs can become an inspiration and part of creative process and Robert Overweg, a Dutch photographer in the virtual world who has exhibited throughout the world, has taken up the challenge to create a series of photos based on glitches in games.

Overweg dwells through the virtual worlds of first and third person shooter games. He looks into the similarities, differences and borders between the virtual and the physical world. Borders which are being tested and stretched by Overweg.

He sees the virtual world as a direct expansion of the “real” world, the virtual places where players come together in multiplayer maps are for Overweg the new public spaces of contemporary society. For him it is logical to document his experiences and research through his photography. While making use of the new possibilities the virtual world give him.

The WaPo has used the money, graciously donated by its paid subscribers, to organize a special around Peeps for this year’s Easter. Peeps, the sugar bombs, not Tweeps.

A photo contest saw many thousands entries and several galleries have been posted online by the WaPo. The Peeps by A. Hitchcock is our absolute favorite. I think it’s time to watch a movie now.

Additionally any of these islands come with the knowledge that your tax paying pennies have been spend wisely because scientists have discovered new, so far undiscovered, islands. A whopping 657. Generally it concerns barrier islands though, not habitable mountains of sand.

Barrier islands often form as chains of long, low, narrow offshore deposits of sand and sediment, running parallel to a coast but separated from it by bays, estuaries or lagoons. Unlike stationary landforms, barrier islands build up, erode, migrate and rebuild over time in response to waves, tides, currents and other physical processes in the open ocean environment.

Scientists who ~~previously slept at work~~ are know to take care of the important things in life such as the ultimate pancake recipe, admit that these isles aren’t new but were overlooked during the last survey.

The newly identified barrier islands didn’t miraculously appear in the last decade, said study team member Matthew L. Stutz of Meredith. They’ve long existed but were overlooked or misclassified in past surveys.

While some of you might be interested in the article, I now am going to become a scientist and scour Google Earth in order to find my own private island because after all that I can not imagine that the scientists have not overlooked some more islands.

Valve amplifier BLOCK is designed according to HI-FI audio rules. Components which spread most electromagnetic interference (AC, power transformers, chokes) are placed in closed compartments further away from audio lines. The main sound board rises on hinges to enable dusting electronics without the need to disconnect anything. The amplifier is made from stainless steel and aluminum.

We here at Frankylicious are different though and will does not report on the newest hype in Japan or even dare to mention the LED teeth braces which seem to do the round in the land of the the Rising Sun.

While the first option a clear favourite is among basement dwellers, here at Frankylicious HQ we really think that the Daily Mail¹ finally an entry worthy of reading provided:

Bolivia is drawing up a draft UN treaty which would give Mother Earth the same rights as humans, including the right to life, to pure water and clean air.

The South American country wants the UN to recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to ‘dominate and exploit’.

According to research Bolivia will become a desert in around 100 years due to climatological changes. Time to protect our planet more and not just in Bolivia. Time for everyone to stand up and do what we need to do. Kyoto naysayers included.

Of course it is a fact that one has to be weird to want to marry in the first place but do you know what would be even weirder? To marry and have a buttnormal fugly wedding cake!

The main problem here of course being ‘Who defines what is weird?‘. Since this is my blog and not some weirdo’s, of course I am the sole and ~~lonely~~ only ~~basement dweller~~ judge of weirdness here.

Get used to it.

And that leads us to next question: ‘How weird do you have to be to waste your time compiling a collection of the weirdest wedding cakes?. Cakes which aren’t weird at all in the first place. You of course must be the highly coveted Dumbass of the Week, right?
