The Real Vegas Life

Sometimes even The Sun can come up with interesting stories, albeit one would have preferred the same story to be covered by the NYT. Still interesting about people living in Las Vegas’ flood tunnels. A piece on reality for many, estimated around 700 people. Read more

DotW: Want to fart during surgery? Think again

If ever you thought it would be a good (cool?) plan to fart during surgery, you might want to reconsider your plan. At least this Danish inhabitant sees the positive in things and decided to sue the hospital for burning his genitals… after he farted. This week’s DotW.

Dogs used as shark bait?

We already had the brilliant major who plans to prevent airplane crashes by killing geese, and the animal craziness never seems to stop. According to The Sun, French fishers use dogs as shark bait.

STRAY dogs are being skewered on hooks and dragged behind boats as live shark bait, The Sun can shockingly reveal. The cruel practice takes place on French-controlled Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, where Prince William spent two holidays.

As usual, we are always careful when it comes to The Sun and actual truth, still if this IS true, it is a shocking revelation.

My blog is like my living room

Matt Müllenweg on comments on his blog:

I’ll happily approve a comment from someone who completely disagrees with everything I believe in, but if I get a positive comment with a curse word in it, I’ll edit it out. My blog is like my living room. If someone was acting out in my house, I’d ask that person to leave.

Matt on what WordPress tries to do:

It’s my responsibility to meet as many users as possible and direct the software project in a way that reflects their interests. Last year, I probably met 2,000 or 3,000 people who make their living from WordPress. We want to be like Google, eBay, Amazon — they all enable other people to make far more money than they capture. And that’s ultimately what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to create a movement.
